"Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.”

Lao Tzu

Hurry up and wait…hurry up and wait…hurry up and wait…travelling by plane can be very frustrating; constantly rushing to the next point before you are halted and made to wait before you can proceed to the next roadblock and so on until you, finally, make your destination. I am sure there have been times when we experienced this in our own lives as well, the feeling of being in a continual struggle towards goals and targets, moving and working; before often having to wait for the benefits or improvements to be noticeable, physically or mentally. But, much like nature, we need to be confident in what we are doing and give in to the knowledge that working every day to get better will provide great rewards in the fullness of time. Everything is accomplished. By aligning mind and body and trusting in the process, we can grow, flourish and reach new heights…

Until next week, be safe and enjoy the trails...

I feel there is a strong interaction between philosophy and running. Traits such as perseverance and courage are key elements in helping to enjoy running fully and can crossover into philosophy. Sabrina Little certainly feels the same…

Being aware of the natural movements and muscles in your body can help you go further, faster and maybe even prevent injuries It’s all about the meshing of physics and physiology…

There is no better way than walking to truly appreciate nature as you navigate a route through the landscape. These hikes around the world come with some of the most impressive natural landscapes to get yourself totally immersed in…

Each week I update the Kings of the Trail playlist with a new selection – just like trail runs or hikes, you can be sure that it will be a varied and eclectic journey, but hopefully, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

This track is not going to get you up and out the door, it’s not going to power you through the end of a long run or get you sprinting to a PB…oh no. It’s completely the opposite; laid back, chilled and slow. As with nature, we all should take some time, breathe and just let life flow past, so take a beat and enjoy the mellow vibes on this track…you may also recognise the original song that features heavily in this one…
