"If the path be beautiful, let us not ask where it leads."
Anatole France
As the highly successful and enjoyable Paris 2024 Olympics closed recently, it seemed fitting to have a great quote from a Parisian. A Nobel Prize Winner no less and Mr. France speaks wise words indeed. Whatever path you may be on, be it beautiful or not, it’s yours to live, follow and enjoy. Whether it’s a run, hike, travel adventure or work experience, it will be part of you and help shape who you are and who you will be. Maybe you are lucky and the path is beautiful. Soak it up and drink it in. Don’t think about what’s to come or where you are going. The same is true for the tougher times. Take it day by day, step by step, task by task. Focus on what is at hand and keep going. Before you realise it the path will be beautiful again. There are many, many versions of this concept, from the old; Carpe Diem, to the new; Yolo! So embrace the journey, saviour the ride, and mostly pay attention to the beauty around you…
Until next week, be safe and enjoy the trails...
New data shows there was a rise in the level of interest in Olympic sports. This was also seen for the endurance disciplines…see which ones can out on top….
There are things that data can and can’t tell you about trends. So why has there been a particular rise in activities out on the trails?
This interview is a great reminder about following the process, trusting in your training…and trying not to question the path too much…
Running may be one of the easiest forms of exercise to take up, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy for everyone…

Each week I update the Kings of the Trail playlist with a new selection – just like trail runs or hikes, you can be sure that it will be a varied and eclectic journey, but hopefully, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
A chilled melodic dance tune that takes you on a pleasant journey….sounds good, doesn’t it? Well, it is. Enjoy the flow of this one…
