“One may walk over the highest mountain one step at a time.”
Barbara Walters
I can’t find much evidence of Barbara Walters conquering many of the world’s highest peaks or being much of an outdoor adventurer in any significant way, but she certainly managed to overcome plenty of personal challenges to rise to the pinnacle of her profession. She made history when she was named the first female co-host of a national news show, NBC’s Today Show, in 1974. She had to endure and rise above the rife sexism and not-too-subtle disdain and contempt of a woman being in journalism (one early co-host refused to do joint interviews with her unless he had the first three questions.) Despite this, she managed to forge the path for female journalists by being herself, sticking to her principles and becoming a master interviewer and one of the best journalists in American media history. As she proved during her life, her quote has more to it than overcoming the physical challenges and obstacles we face. It is through the daily, consistent application of your talents and efforts that can bring the best results. Whatever mountain you need to walk over, do it one step at a time...
Until next week, be safe and enjoy the trails...

It’s Thanksgiving week in the US, so this week’s selection is all about being thankful…the track I have chosen is called Grateful, after all.
